A Training of Trainers (ToT) on climate data analysis and visualization was conducted under the project “Promoting Climate Resilient and Socially Inclusive Water Management in the Lower Karnali Watershed Region, Nepal (CLASSIK)” on 27-28 March 2025 at Lalitpur, Nepal. The training was facilitated by Dr. Nir Krakauer, Associate Professor at City College of New York and Research Affiliate at The Small Earth Nepal (SEN).
A total of 13 early career researchers (M:4: F:9) were equipped with essential skills in climate data processing and visualisation. The participants learned about climate data structure, formats, and visualization, including satellite data processing and analysis using Python. They learned reanalysis of temperature and precipitation data for Nepal, examining spatial and temporal trends. Additionally, the trend and regression of precipitation and temperature for satellite data were analyzed. These trained early career researchers will provide training to targeted participants of the CLASSIK project in the near future as part of its capacity-building program.
