Strengthening Networks: SEN Hosts Networking Meeting

The Small Earth Nepal (SEN) hosted a networking meeting with Dr. Dinesh Manandhar, Expert, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Dr. Kedar Koirala, Stochastic Hydrologist and Prof. Dr. Sunil Adhikary, Glaciologist, on 27 April 2027 for an engaging discussion on organizational growth, collaboration, and future directions. The meeting opened with an introductory presentation of SEN, where the organization’s mission, vision, and flagship projects were shared. Building on this, Dr. Dhiraj Pradhananga, Founder President, SEN and UNESCO Chairholder in Mountain Cryosphere and Water, Tribhuvan University, highlighted SEN’s contributions in the WASH sector, including the impactful COVID-19 Rapid Action Taskforce (RAT) initiative and the Menstrual Health Management (MHM) project. The discussions reaffirmed SEN’s guiding principles of sustainability and collaborative engagement.

A key highlight of the meeting was an in-depth discussion on SEN’s strategic ambition, expanding its presence internationally. Participants, Dr. Adhikary, Dr. Koirala, and Dr. Manandhar, shared valuable insights drawn from their professional experiences. They also suggested fostering international collaboration and creating a platform for experience sharing across borders. The potential for multilingual publications was also discussed to bridge the gap between research and communities, particularly where language barriers limit accessibility.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to organizing similar networking engagements in the future to strengthen collaborations, co-develop concepts, and mobilize resources.
