Sensitization Activities, a pre-event for Planet Nepal 2.1: Festival of Arts and Environment was completed successfully in 10 schools of Kathmandu Valley. The program started from 10 August and ended on 29 August, 2013. The schools involved were Siddhartha Vanasthali Institute, Everest English School, Vinayak Sikshya Niketan, Pushpasadan Boarding School, Creative Academy, Apple International School, New Summit School, Machhapuchhre International School, Shri Kumari School and Saraswati Boarding Higher Secondary School.
In each school, the photo exhibition A sustainable development, why? The water was shown. As it is believed that visual presentation is the best method of disseminating information, one documentary Revealed: Himalayan Melt Down was screened. Similarly, the documentary screening was followed by interaction series between water experts and students. The experts answered the queries of students and gave further information on current issues of water and climate change. Mr. Prabin Bikram Rana, Acting Director of Alliance Francaise Kathmandu was the chief guest in the closing program. The event was organized jointly by The Small Earth Nepal (SEN) and Alliance Francaise Kathmandu.
