SEN Researchers Present Diverse Climate and Water Studies at WET-WAR 2025

SEN made a strong academic presence at the International Conference on WET-WAR 2025 at the National Institute of Technology, Patna, India, with researchers presenting studies across climate, water, cryosphere and disaster risk themes.
The SEN team included Ashok GhimireAyaswori ByanjuSusa ManandharSushant DhitalSubhekshya PandeyMega MaskeyNamrata MishraNita Khatri and Bandana Koirala. Ms. Ayaswori Byanju received a Special Award for her outstanding presentation on “𝑃𝑒𝑟𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝐸𝑣𝑎𝑙𝑢𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑓 𝐹𝑙𝑜𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑇𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑊𝑒𝑡𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑁𝑢𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑃𝑜𝑙𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑅𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑣𝑎𝑙 𝑖𝑛 𝐸𝑢𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑝ℎ𝑖𝑐 𝑈𝑟𝑏𝑎𝑛 𝑊𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝐵𝑜𝑑𝑖𝑒𝑠”, a research project funded by Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research. Her work reflects the technical strength and innovation within the SEN research community.
Other SEN researchers presented work on:
  • Climate-driven expansion of glacial lakes in the Nepal Himalaya
  • Integrated flood modeling of major river systems
  • Cryosphere–hydrology interactions
  • Changing precipitation patterns and snow-to-rain transitions
  • Remote sensing of glacial lakes
  • Water security challenges and climate-induced disaster risks

Through these contributions, SEN researchers shared new insights into glaciers, water security, flood dynamics, climate change, and ecosystem health, highlighting SEN’s growing role in climate and water research at regional and global scales.
