The Small Earth Nepal organized inauguration and handover program of Rain Water Harvesting System to Chunidevi Sikshya Mandir Lower Secondary School, Bungamati on 28th April, 2013. The program was formally inaugurated and handed over the System to the School by chief guest, Mr. Ashutosh Tiwari, Country Representative, WaterAid Nepal.
The installation of the Rain water harvesting system was done as one of the outcomes of the Nepal National Water Week 2013 which was held from 17th to 23rd March. In the welcome speech, Mr. Dil Bhakta Dongol, Principal of Chunidevi Sikshya Mandir appreciated The Small Earth Nepal, WaterAid Nepal and One Planet Solution for installing Rainwater Harvesting System in their school. Ms. Rajani Maharjan, Operational Manager, One Planet Solutions Pvt. Ltd, in her remarks, suggested to increase the catchment area of the plant so that more water could be collected for various purposes including artificial ground water recharge. Mr. Sudarshan Rajbhandari, Vice President, The Small Earth Nepal and Secretary, Nepal National Water Week Organizing Committee 2013, told that the RWH System Installation was one of the major outcomes of the Nepal National Water Week 2013. He also thanked WaterAid Nepal for financial support and One Planet Solutions Pvt. Ltd for technical assistance.
In the closing remarks, the chief guest of the program, Mr. Ashutosh Tiwari, Country Representative, Water Aid Nepal appreciated the efforts of all concerned persons for their continuous effort for making the program successful. He told that the RWH system will be an added advantage for the students. He also added that WaterAid Nepal was open in future too for such kind of programs.
