The Small Earth Nepal joins Asian Monsoon Climate Change Adaptation Network (AMCLAN)

On 30 September 2025, Dr. Dhiraj Pradhananga, President, SEN, attended the first launch event of the Asian Monsoon Climate Change Adaptation Network (AMCLAN) at Kagawa University, during the First Biennial Conference of the Asian Association for Environmental History (AAEH 2025). The event gathered 11 researchers from Japan, India, Bangladesh and Nepal. AMCLAN, under the International Consortium for Earth and Development Sciences (ICEDS) framework and Prof. Toru Terao’s leadership, is established under the JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) Core-to-Core Program “Establishment of a Network Hub for Interacting Between Climate Change Science and Adaptation Sites in Asia, bringing together researchers working across climate change science and adaptation.

Following an opening address by Prof. Kenji Wada, Vice President, Kagawa University, participants discussed the ICEDS framework, agreed on the agenda and joined a signing ceremony to mark the beginning of AMCLAN. Dr. Pradhananga formally signed the AMCLAN agenda representing SEN, marking SEN’s presence in this growing regional research network.

SEN looks forward to actively contributing to AMCLAN and engaging with institutions across the region to advance a climate resilient future.
