On 8 January 2023, The Small Earth Nepal (SEN) in collaboration with the Central Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (CDHM), Tribhuvan University, Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ), Center of Research for Environment, Energy and Water (CREEW), Dhaka University (DU), Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Management Board (KVWSMB), University of Rhode Island (URI) and University of Yamanashi (UY) conducted an online bimonthly progress and updates sharing meeting. The meeting was attended by 12 participants from collaborating institutions.
The meeting shared updates on the FTWS project from the three implementing countries – Bangladesh, India and Nepal.
Ms. Nazmoon Nahar Sumiya (Assistant Professor, Department of Geography and Environment, DU), Dr. Ritu Singh (Assistant Professor, CURAJ) and Ms. Ayaswori Byanju (Research Assistant, SEN) presented the updates and plans for Bangladesh, India and Nepal respectively. The major updates have been the experimental set up of rafts, water quality tests and ongoing work on floating rafts installation in the project sites. Participants discussed the better ways for prototype installation at remaining project sites and also discussed scientific ways to carry out research involving the society and community.
