The Small Earth Nepal organized a training on “Hydrologic Modeling and Runoff Scenario Generation” from 16 to 19 August 2013 as one of the capacity building activities under the project ‘Adaptation for Climate Change by Livestock Smallholders in Gandaki River Basin, Nepal’. The training was targeted to those professionals and young researchers who use or wish to use ArcSWAT in order to investigate hydrological and water quality issues in watersheds and river basins. The hydrological modeling and runoff scenario generation is designed to be approximately 80% hands-on. The training also intended to develop skills of calibration of twelve young researchers from IOE, DHM, AFU, CDES, Hariyo Ban Program, WWF Nepal and SEN. The introduction to calibration, validation, and sensitivity analysis using SWAT-CUP was covered through this training. Dr. Soni M. Pradhanang, Research Associate at City University of New York (CUNY) and the project Co-PI trained the participants. Dr. Pradhanang has been working in hydrological modeling for past few years.
