Er. Mahendra B. Gurung, Executive Director of SEN on Jan 30, 2019 participated in Nepal-Canada Sustainable Hydro Workshop organized in Kathmandu. He presented a paper titled Dam Safety Measures considered in Designs with Case Studies of Pancheshwar and Budhi Gandaki Reservoir Projects. Citing examples that China has built more than 84,000 dams, U.S. has built more than 80,000 dams and Canada has built more than 14,000 dams, his message was clear, “More dams, more prosperity.“
