A forum on “Working for Water: Stories of Scarcity in Kathmandu,Nepal”

A forum on Working for Water: Stories of Scarcity in Kathmandu, Nepal was organized by Fulbright Nepal on October 5, 2020. The speaker, Ms. Madison M. Wrobley is a Fulbright National Geographic Fellow and a research affiliate of The Small Earth Nepal (SEN). She presented her research, which is focused on the causes of water insecurity in Kathmandu Valley and the social tensions that water problems often cause. Her work, done in collaboration with SEN, primarily centers in the rapidly changing areas of the valley including Budhanikhantha, Kageshwori Manohara, and Tokha Municipalities, and includes formal and semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and land use land cover analysis. The forum was attended by more than 32 participants from various academic backgrounds. It also included an interaction session between the speaker and the participants.
