Awareness Campaign on Climate Change in Private School in Kathmandu Valley

The Small Earth Nepal with Liberal Organization for Population Activities (LOPA) Nepal, conducted a Climate change awareness program from 17 Dec 2009 to 5 Jan 2010 for the students of Kathmandu district. The main objective of the program was to resolve the knowledge of the Students regarding Climate change and its impact.

During the period Mr. Rakesh Guragain from SEN along with LOPA Nepal visited ten different schools around Dallu area of the Kathmandu district. Some of the schools were:

Mount Glory Boarding School.
Future Star Boarding School.
Panchakanya Boarding School.
Little Buddha Boarding School.
Buddha Jyoti Boarding School.

Arunodaya Boarding School.
 

The presentation on climate change was explained by Mr. Rakesh Guragain separately at different classes in some school and even at the school hall and assembly ground at others. The presentation was very effective on imparting the knowledge to all the students. As per the interaction with the students involved, the program proved to be very fruitful and the response from the teachers and the school administration was also overwhelming. A Drama Competition related with the same subject matter is also going to be held very soon.
